In 1966, after working at their local bakery, Peter and Annie Rijs bought a small cake shop named Patties in Lakes Entrance, Victoria. Wanting to offer their customers more than just sweet treats, they introduced freshly baked bread rolls and delicious hot pies to the menu. The rest, as they say, is history. It wasn’t long before their business began to boom and bite by bite, the Patties legend began to grow. By the mid eighties, thanks to its famous pies, pastries and party food, Patties had become a household name. 
With business booming, a much larger expansion to increase capacity is built in Bairnsdale. Increasing production capacity to meet increasing demand.
We acquire iconic brands like Four’N Twenty, Herbert Adams and Nanna’s. 
2016 - Pacific Equity Partners agrees to take over Patties Foods in a private equity takeover and later that year acquires Leader Foods NZ and South Australian meal solutions business Australian Wholefoods in 2017.
The heart of Patties is Bairnsdale – Driving Innovation and creating Irrestible food.
2017 –Four’N Twenty  are bringing a bit of Australia to Philadelphia, announcing an exciting partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers. The partnership agreement marks Four’N Twenty’s first sponsorship of a U.S. professional sports team and is the 76ers first international corporate partner in franchise history.
2018 - The Herbert Adams rebrand includes a complete logo and packaging overhaul with an abundance of premium party and single-serve pie and pastry flavours – each exemplifying Herbert’s pie-oneering spirit. The pie range leading the relaunch is Herbert Adam’s wine infusions range with wine sourced from the Swan Hill region.
Four’N Twenty is thrilled to partner with World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. WWE ahead of the biggest live wrestling event in Australian history.
Patties diversifies its portfolio by launching into an entirely new category, the supermarket chiller. Ruffie Rustic Foods is a chiller brand offering quiches and frittatas promising the taste and experience of a rustic home cooked meal. 
Our team from Patties celebrated the relaunch of our iconic blue boxes. Set on an island in Sydney Harbour, the media spectacle introduced smart stylish side recipes and our delicious plant-based finger food.
