Slow-Cooked Chunky Beef & Mushroom pie with

Warm Cabbage, Apple and Bacon Salad

1 pkt Herbert Adams Gourmet Chunky Beef and Mushroom Pies
20g butter
3 spring onions, diagonally sliced
2 short cut bacon rashers, cut into strips
1 small Pink Lady apple, cored and sliced
1/8 small green or red cabbage, shredded
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Juice of half a lemon

Products used in this recipe:

1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Remove the pies from pack and place on an oven tray. If frozen, heat for approximately 45 minutes. If thawed, heat for approximately 30 minutes.
2. Melt the butter in a non-stick fry pan and sauté the spring onions and bacon for 2-3 minutes. 
3. Add the apple and cook a further 2 minutes then stir through the cabbage, cover and simmer over a low heat until the cabbage is wilted, season to taste and drizzle with lemon juice. Spoon onto dinner plates. Serve immediately with Chunky Beef and Mushroom Pies. 

 

Tip:

To maximise the juice from a lemon, first microwave the whole lemon for 15-20 seconds
