Slow-Cooked Chunky Beef & Mushroom

Dukkah Roasted vegetable Salad with Baby Beans

1 x pkt Herbert Adams Chunky Beef and Mushroom Pies

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

1 small onion chopped

1 clove garlic, crushed

2/3 cup tomato juice

2/3 cup couscous

100g baby green beans, halved, steamed or microwaved until just tender

½ cup pitted green olives

1 tablespoon chopped flat parsley

1 tablespoon chopped basil

Salt and freshly ground black pepper


Products used in this recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Remove the pies from pack and place on an oven tray. If frozen, heat for approximately 45 minutes. If thawed, heat for approximately 30 minutes.
  2. Melt half the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onion and garlic for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the tomato juice and bring to the boil add the couscous and stir well. Cover and remove from the heat. Stand 3-5 minutes until fluffy and liquid is absorbed.
  3. Stir in the remaining butter, beans, olives and herbs, then season to taste. Spoon onto dinner plates. Serve immediately with Chunky Beef and Mushroom Pies.


Toss through a little Italian or Balsamic dressing  and serve the delicious accompaniment as a cold salad.
